FAQ: How can I program identical Keysight N6700-series power modules that are connected in parallel?

Use the Group function to "group" identical N6700 power modules that are connected in parallel. This will configure the designated channels to act as a single channel, allowing commands to be sent to only one channel in the group.

Refer to chapter 4 under “Output Groups” in the N6700 User’s Guide for further details.

When using SCPI for example, simple send the following commands to configure the group function. This allows you to send subsequent commands to channel 1 only:

SYSTem:GROUp:DEFine (@1,2,3) followed by SYSTem:REBoot.

Refer to the Group command in the Programmer’s Reference Guide.
